Description

Excellent, delicate lifetime print from the completed plate with the signature and date as well as the addition of the short lines under the left eye. A good example of this early portrait study, in which all the subtleties of the etching are expressed in the web of lines on the wrinkled face, in the hair and veil. Classified “R +” by Nowell-Usticke and labelled “A scarce, very desirable portrait”. Cut just inside the edge of the plate. – Paper slightly stained in a few places. The upper left and right corners reattached. A small, restored tear in the left edge . In beautiful condition. Rare!
