Cultural Engagement & Cooperations

When passion for art becomes great commitment

Karl & Faber is committed to the arts in many ways in and around Munich. Our goal is to make the city more attractive as an art location for young talents and to promote the diversity and renewal of the Munich art scene in an international context. Thus, as an internationally active auction house, we organise charitable events and benefit auctions locally, support the local museums and artist-run spaces and promote the development of Munich into a nationally and internationally important art location.

Karl & Faber Prize of the Art Academy Foundation

Since 2013, we have donated the Karl & Faber Prize of the Stiftung Kunstakademie every three years. The occasion at the time was the 90th anniversary of the auction house, but we have continued to support the foundation in its valuable work to this day. The prize has already been awarded three times to students of the Academy of Fine Arts Munich for outstanding achievements.

Various Others

Karl & Faber has acted as a sponsor and partner of Various Others since its inception. Together with the Munich Initiative for Contemporary Art, we have set ourselves the goal of initiating and developing cooperative and international art projects in Munich. In doing so, we aim to intensify the exchange and dialogue between the Munich art scene and international partners, guests and media.

Charity events and event sponsorship

Karl & Faber regularly supports charitable organisations, for example by sponsoring charity auctions. There have already been successful auction cooperations with charities such as Rotary, Stella Bildung Bewegt e.V. and Artists for Kids – Projekt für kreative Jugendhilfe.

We also support events or art projects in the museum sector – such as exhibitions of the Franz Marc Museum in Kochel or the annual kick-off event of the Freunde Haus der Kunst. And this also includes Karl & Faber’s long-standing engagement for the charity auction of the Pinakothek der Moderne, which is organised by the Friends of the Museum. The proceeds are used to support projects and purchases for the museum.

Cooperations

As a traditional art auction house, Karl & Faber maintains long-term, strategic cooperations with selected partners. In close collaboration, we develop tailor-made concepts with individual content, exclusive events and high-quality digital experiences.
