“Kinderfries: Frühling”.
Description
Eine etwas kleinere, in der Staffage leicht veränderte Version, datiert 1917, wurde 1996 bei Neumeister, München, versteigert (Auktion 291, Los Nr. 593 mit Abb. auf S. 137). Das dekorative Motiv der Mauer, die den Vordergrund abriegelt, findet noch in weiteren Gemälden Anwendung, etwa in “Die kleinen Apfeldiebe” (vgl. Nagel, Stuttgart, Auktion 12.7.2006, Los 1262); es unterstreicht das flächige Kompositionsprinzip des Frieses.
