Nach seiner Heirat ließ sich Wasmann 1846 mit seiner Frau in Südtirol nieder, wo er als Porträtmaler sehr gefragt war. Hier zeigt er die “Stiegelwirtin” streng frontal vor einem dunkelgrünen Hintergrund, der die Rottöne des Inkarnats besonders unterstreicht. Als Vorlage diente ihm wohl, wie häufig im Spätwerk, eine Daguerreotypie. – Mit Bereibungen unter der Rahmung
sowie kleineren Kratzern.
