Description

The composition with the body of Christ, supported by Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus, is closely modelled on Albrecht Dürer’s woodcut of the same name from the Little Passion (Meder 153). This and the following work could be altarpieces that were painted over in the 17th century or works that were created from scratch around 1600 in the course of the Dürer Renaissance based on models from the early 16th century.
