Description

• Special edition of “Grenze Weg” to mark the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall
• Characteristic steel sculpture with rust patina
• Cragg is one of the most innovative and versatile sculptors in international contemporary art. His works can be found in museum collections worldwide Against the backdrop of the 25th anniversary of German reunification, the sculpture “Grenze weg” presents an impressive homage both to this historic event and to the Brandenburg Gate. The weighty work reflects the once impassable nature of the monumental landmark as well as the breaking and fall of the Berlin Wall. Cragg cast the sculpture in steel and allowed the surface to oxidise naturally. “Grenze weg” is impressive not only for its physical size, but also for its profound symbolic significance. The work is exemplary of Cragg’s unmistakable and organic formal language.
