Description

Sheet VIII from the series: Carceri. Rich, strong impression with the Latin number at upper right and the additional shading at the rings and at the column. Published in the second edition, third edition from the mid-1760s to 1770. With a wide margin around the heavy plate edge. – Smoothed centrefold. Paper slightly stained and with faint handling creases in margins. With traces and remnants of former mounting on reverse, otherwise in very good condition.
