Description
Ausgezeichneter, gleichmäßiger Druck mit dem Monogramm und der Adresse “I. ab Heyden excudit”. Knapp innerhalb der Plattenkante geschnitten. Ferdinand I. wurde 1503 in Spanien geboren und war ein Enkel Kaiser Maximilians I. und jüngerer Bruder von Kaiser Karl V. Nach dessen Abdankung wurde er von 1556 bis 1564 römisch-deutscher Kaiser. 1530 entstanden die Vorarbeiten zu diesem Porträt, als sich Ferdinand I. in Begleitung seines Bruders Kaiser Karls V., auf dem Weg zum Reichstag in Augsburg, in München befand. – Papier etwas gebräunt. In der Tafel mit zwei kleinen Fehlstellen und einer Federnotation, ansonsten gut erhalten.
