Description
1959 tat sich Andy Warhol mit seiner Freundin Suzie Frankfurt zusammen, um ein Kochbuch in limitierter Auflage für die New Yorker Beau-Monde zu produzieren. Sie nannten es “Wild Raspberries” – Wilde Himbeeren in Anlehnung an Ingmar Bergmans Film “Wilde Erdbeeren”, der damals gerade in den Kinos lief. So entstand zweifellos das witzigste und fantasievollste Kochbuch, das je produziert wurde. 18 Warhol-Illustrationen begleiten die urkomischen Rezepte – unter anderem A&P Surprise, Gefilte of Fighting Fish, Seared Roebuck und Baked Hawaii -, die von Suzie Frankfurt erdacht und von Mrs. Warhola, Warhols Mutter, handgeschrieben wurden. Je drei Illustrationen wurden damals handkoloriert.
