Description
Romea Tabuena lebte in England und Frankreich, bevor er im Künstlerdorf San Miguel de Allende in Mexico seine Heimat fand. Seine Themen sind die Härte des Lebens der Landbevölkerung, in deren Mitte er lebte, und ihre religiösen Bräuche. Charakteristisch für sein Werk sind die atmosphärisch dichten Darstellungen von Naturphänomenen. Als seine wichtigste Aufgabe sah Tabuena, den Menschen ins Bewusstsein zu rufen, dass sie nicht nur in und mit der Natur leben, sondern Teil von ihr sind.
