Description
Hervorragender, kräftiger und fein differenzierter Frühruck des 1. Zustands mit leichtem Grat. Vor den zusätzlichen diagonalen Strichlagen im Deckenbalken. Mit einem feinen Rändchen um die Plattenkante. Das reizvolle Blatt zählt zum Spätwerk des Künstlers. Es ist das erste und zugleich letzte radierte Blatt mit Szenen aus dem beruflichen Alltagsleben. In den Jahren zuvor, von 1653 bis 1655, dagegen eine Vielzahl von Blättern mit biblischen Inhalten. Ein Jahr nach der Entstehung dieses Blattes schuf Rembrandt 1656 das Porträt des Goldschmieds Jan Lutma aus Amsterdam. – Papier leicht nachgedunkelt, ansonsten sehr gut erhalten. In so einem frühen Abzug äußerst selten!
