Description
Fred Meijer beschreibt das Gemälde als “charakteristische Arbeit des Antwerpener Stilllebenmalers Jan Pauwel Gillemans d.Ä”. und vergleicht es mit dem Bild einer Früchtegirlande im Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam (Inv. Nr. 1234 (OK)). Die detailreiche und dichte Komposition ist in feinem Raffinement durchdacht, wobei die Farben durch diffus über die Früchte gleitendes Licht vor dunklem Hintergrund delikat zur Wirkung gebracht werden.
