Description
Die Porträtierte ist Clelia Cesarini Colonna (1655-1735), verheiratet mit Filippo Colonna, Fürst von Sonnino. Sie galt als eine der schönsten Frauen ihrer Zeit. Der ursprünglich in Antwerpen beheimatete Ferdinand Voet hatte als Porträtmaler in Rom eine glänzende Karriere gemacht. Francesco Petrucci führt in seiner Monographie des Malers neun Porträts der Clelia Cesarini von unterschiedlicher Qualität auf. Unser Bildnis war Petrucci bislang nicht bekannt, er hat es nun als Werkstattarbeit eingeordnet.
