Description
Es handelt sich wohl um einen Abklatsch der finalen Entwurfszeichnung für das gleichnamige Altarbild von San Pietro in Bologna (dritte Seitenkapelle rechts). Diese Zeichnung befindet sich in den Uffizien, Florenz. Graziani hatte 1738 vom Kardinal-Erzbischof von Bologna Prospero Lambertini den Auftrag zu dem Altarbild erhalten. Nachdem Lambertini 1740 als Benedikt XIV. Papst geworden war, erbat er 1745 von Graziani eine Wiederholung für San Apollinaris in Rom. – Vereinzelt mit Braunflecken.
