Lithograph on wove paper by Arches. (1959). C. 70 x 52.5 cm (almost the full sheet). A numbered copy from an edition of 200. Signed lower right.
The lithograph is based on an indian ink drawing by Picasso from 1959 (cf. Zervos XIX 81). The motif was also used for a silkscreen poster for the exhibition “Pablo Picasso. Grafik aus 20 Jahren” at Kaiser Wilhelm Museum, Krefeld 1970 (cf. Czwiklitzer 368).

Description

Die Lithographie basiert auf einer Tuschpinselzeichnung Picassos von 1959 (vgl. Zervos XIX 81). Das Motiv wird auch als Serigrafie für das Plakat der Ausstellung “Pablo Picasso. Grafik aus 20 Jahren” im Kaiser Wilhelm Museum, Krefeld 1970 verwendet (vgl. Czwiklitzer 368). Papier gebräunt und mit schmalem Lichträndchen, Blattkanten partiell geringfügig bestoßen, vereinzelte schwache Griffknicke, sonst in guter Erhaltung.
