Description
Lady Emma Hamilton zählte zu den mondänsten Frauen des 18. Jahrhunderts. In einfachsten Verhältnissen geboren, verzückte sie den Neapolitaner Hochadel, verzauberte Goethe, verführte den Seehelden Lord Nelson. Mit dem verheirateten, einarmigen und einäugigen über 70-Jährigen hatte sie von 1798 bis 1805 eine Affäre. Sie wurde mit den sogenannten “Attitüden” – Darstellungen antiker Statuen und Gemälde als lebende Bilder – auch als Künstlerin bekannt und bereits zu Lebzeiten vielfach porträtiert und nachgeahmt. – Am linken Rand mit Spuren alter Montage. Mit leichten Knitterspuren, sonst gut erhalten.
