Guillam Dubois ist ein typischer Vertreter der Haarlemer Landschaftsmalerei in der Art des frühen Jacob van Ruisdael. Besonders geschätzt waren seine Waldlandschaften, von denen sich Beispiele in den Museen in Braunschweig, Berlin, Schwerin und Bordeaux erhalten haben.
