Description
Anlässlich des 200. Geburtstags von Richard Wagner schuf der Bildhauer Stephan Balkenhol ein Denkmal für Leipzig, die Geburtsstadt des Komponisten. In blauem Gehrock und grauer Hose steht Wagner lebensgroß vor seinem riesenhaften Schatten. Dieser ist ein Verweis auf sein eigenes übermächtiges Werk wie auch auf seinen ambivalenten Charakter. Die Realisierung des Denkmals unterstützte Stephan Balkenhol selbst, durch eine Edition von 25 kleinformatigen Repliken.
