Description
Im Zentrum seines Œuvres steht Jonathan Meese meist selbst. So wohl auch hier, wo er sich die Identität des Bösewichts Max Zorin aus dem James Bond Film “Im Angesicht des Todes” verleiht. Meeses Werk ist meist radikal, provokant und wendet sich gegen das Schöne und Gute. Auch die auf der Rückseite der Leinwand collagierten Angebote eines Hotels auf der Insel St. Barth, der Insel der Schönen und Reichen, sind ein subversiver ironischer Verweis auf das karibische Urlaubsparadies. Verso auf der Leinwand 3 Zimmerangebote des Hotels Carl Gustaf auf der Insel Saint-Barthélemy/Kleine Antillen, wohl vom Künstler selbst geklebt.
