Prachtvoller, fein differenzierender Abzug mit der Widmung an Eugène, Herzog von Leuchtenberg und der Adresse im Unterrand. Unterhalb der Büste von Voltaire haben sich im berühmten Salon von Madame Geoffrin zahlreiche Gelehrte, Künstler und Philosophen versammelt, um Le Kain am Tisch zu lauschen, der Voltaires “L’Orphelin de la Chine” rezitiert. – Papier minimal nachgedunkelt, ca. 9 cm langer, restaurierter Riss am Unterrand, kleine Randmängel.
