Ausgebildet in Paris, war Le Lorrain in den 1740er Jahren in Rom tätig, u.a. als Mitarbeiter Piranesis. 1758 wurde er, von der Zarin Elisabeth nach St. Petersburg berufen, dort Rektor der neugegründeten Kunstakademie. – Im oberen Bereich innerhalb der Einfassungslinie mit mehreren langen, fachmännisch restaurierten Rissen und einem kleinen hinterlegten Papierverlust. Gebräunt.
