Description
Mit einer Charakterisierung der äußeren Erscheinungsform des Seefahrers von späterer Hand in Italienisch im Unterrand. 1596 publizierten Aliprando Caprioli, Filippo Thomassino, Giovan Turpino et al. das Werk “Ritratti di cento capitani illustri con li lor fatti in guerra brevemente scritti” mit demselben Bildnis des Kolumbus, jedoch ohne das Wappen und die Datierung im Medium des Holzschnitts. Möglicherweise ist vorliegende Zeichnung nach einem Prototyp entstanden, der später als Vorzeichnung auch für die Druckgraphik diente. – Am oberen und am unteren Rand auf Untersatz montiert. Im Weiß des Hintergrunds minimal stockfleckig, ansonsten schön.
