Corrodi hatte sich bereits mit Anfang Zwanzig dem deutschen Künstlerkreis um Johann Christian Reinhart und Josef Anton Koch in Rom zugewandt. Seine in vollendeter Aquarellmanier festgehaltenen Veduten galten bereits zu seinen Lebzeiten als äußerst begehrt, fanden ihren Weg sogar bis an den russischen Zarenhof und machten Salomon Corrodi zu einem der bekanntesten Vedutisten seiner Zeit. – Insgesamt schön und farbfrisch erhalten.
