Description
1933 in die USA emigriert, bezog George Grosz mit seiner Familie bald ein Haus in Bayside auf Long Island. Die neue Umgebung regte ihn, den Maler der Großstadt, verstärkt zur Auseinandersetzung mit der Landschaft an. Hier kontrastiert er die graphischen Elemente der Telegrafenmasten und des Brückengeländers mit dem zarten Laub der Bäume, wobei die getupfte Aquarellfarbe der Komposition einen atmosphärischen Effekt verleiht. – Etwas gebräunt und mit kleinen Montageresten am oberen Rand, verso mit Papierstreifen von alter Montierung, sonst gut erhalten.
