Description
Vorzeichnung für Munkácsys berühmtestes Werk “Der letzte Tag eines zum Tode Verurteilten”, das eine Novelle von Victor Hugo illustriert. Für das Gemälde, heute in der Ungarischen Nationalgalerie, Budapest, erhielt der Künstler 1870 die Goldmedaille des Pariser Salons. – Im Passepartoutausschnitt leicht gebräunt, verso am Oberrand in den Ecken mit Montageresten, ansonsten gut erhalten.
