Description
Das schon zu Lebzeiten Rembrandts beliebte und gesuchte Blatt, aus der Folge von Darstellungen aus der Kindheitsgeschichte Christi, in einem sehr schönen, harmonischen Abdruck, der zarte Ätzspuren am unteren Rand zeigt. Die leichte Kratzspur unterhalb des linken Auges von Maria, laut White/Boon und Nowell-Usticke ein Zeichen für “…earliest impressions …”, ist noch erkennbar. Selten so schön. Die linke Blattkante mit Spuren eines Rändchens, sonst knapp an die Plattenkante geschnitten. – Dünne Stelle im Papier in der linken unteren Ecke. Von schöner Erhaltung.
