Description
Mit zarten, stark femininen Zügen, einfühlsam erfasste Porträtstudie. Einzig das feinhaarige Bärtchen identifiziert den Dargestellten eindeutig als Mann. Als Wilhelm von Schadow 1826 Direktor der Düsseldorfer Akademie wurde, folgte ihm Heinrich Mücke, ab 1829 war dort auch Rethel unter den nazarenischen Gleichgesinnten. – Insgesamt etwas fleckig; im Randbereich gebräunt.
