Description
Sicher umgesetzte Zeichnung, nach den Fresken des Annibale Caracci im Palazzo Farnese in Rom. Die mythologischen Szenen in der Galleria Farnese wurden, seit ihrer Entstehung Ende des 16. Jahrhunderts, zur beliebten Kopiervorlage für zahlreiche Künstler, darunter auch so bekannte Namen wie Philipp Otto Runge. – Mit altersbedingten Gebrauchspuren, Randmängeln und einer gestauchten Mittelfalte. Unterhalb der Europa “Caracci?” bezeichnet.
Provenienz: Aus der Sammlung “M.C.”, rechts unten mit dem Sammlungsstempel (nicht bei Lugt).
