Aus der Folge von 10 Bll. (Bastian 42-51). Druck der Lithographie von Matthieu, Switzerland, mit dem Trockenstempel. Mit der geprägten römischen Blattnummer und dem geprägten Copyright-Stempel und Jahreszahl. “Nur einmal, 1974, entsteht ein Zyklus von zehn Drucken, das Portfolio “Natural History Part I, Mushrooms” in dem Twombly die Technik der Collage in verschiedene komplexe Verfahren des Drucks umsetzt. […] Diese Drucke […] beginnen mit jeweils einer Darstellung, die Twombly einem Buch über Pilze entnimmt. Statt paradigmatisch vorzugehen arrangiert er die unterschiedlichsten Reproduktionen aus Zeitschriften, Photovorlagen, Farbskalenfragmenten und farbigen zeichnerischen Passagen für Räume vielfältig anspielungsreicher, oftmals paradoxer Analogien” (Heiner Bastian, “Cy Twombly.
