Die kleine Darstellung ist charakteristisch für das Frühwerk, in dem sich der damals Zwanzigjährige intensiv mit seinem alltäglichen Umfeld auseinandersetzt; selbst hier ist bereits die meditative Stille spürbar, die so viele spätere Werke des Künstlers auszeichnet. An den oberen Ecken auf die Unterlage montiert. Schwach fleckig, alt mit Einfassungslinie versehen, sonst gut erhalten.
Beiliegt: Anonym: Arkadische Landschaft mit Badenden. Braune Feder und Aquarell auf Bütten mit Wz. “(…) HONIG”. Ca. 18,5 : 22 cm. Früher Wilhelm von Kobell zugeschrieben. Insgesamt 2 Bll.
Provenienz: Sammlung Johann Nepomuk Seiler, verso mit dem Stempel (nicht bei Lugt).
