Description
Für Junghanns typisches Motiv mit effektvoll eingesetztem Lichtspiel auf dem Rücken des Schimmels. 1904 hatte der Künstler Maria Buchner geheiratet, eine Urenkelin des berühmten Domenico Quaglio, und wurde noch im selben Jahr, auf Vorschlag seines Lehrers Heinrich von Zügel, zum Leiter der Meisterklasse für Tier- und Freilichtmalerei an die Kunstakademie Düsseldorf berufen. Vor allem im Rahmenbereich mit kleinen Bereibungen im Farbauftrag, sonst gut.
