Grazing ponys. Oil on rough canvas. 1960. C. 30 : 35 cm. Signed with the monogram at the lower edge (half hidden by the frame). Framed. A colourful, characteristic work with an intriguing tension between abstract and representative elements.
Description
Verso mit dem Adressetikett der Künstlerin, dort typographisch datiert und betitelt “Pony’s” sowie bezeichnet.
Starkfarbige Arbeit mit betontem Materialcharakter, die auf den ersten Blick wie eine abstrakte Komposition wirkt, die aus unterschiedlich gemusterten Farbflächen zusammengesetzt ist. Erst die beiden Ponys am unteren Rand legen eine gegenständliche Sehweise nahe, die jedoch nicht jede Farbfläche eindeutig entschlüsseln kann. Das Resultat ist eine reizvolle Ambivalenz, wie so oft bei der Künstlerin, deren Bilder nur scheinbar naiv sind. – Sehr gut erhalten.
