Hofmaier 191/II B b (von C b).
Bl. 1 der Folge von 10 Bll. “Der Jahrmarkt”. Sehr schöner, gratiger Druck mit Büttenrand. In programmatischer Weise stellt sich Beckmann hier als Ausrufer im “Circus Beckmann” vor, der die Besucher mit einer Glocke zur Aufmerksamkeit auffordert, der Finger deutet bereits auf die nächste Attraktion. Neben dem Jahrmarkt zieht sich der Zirkus als Leitmotiv durch Beckmanns Werk, beide stehen für eine Realität, die nicht mit rationalen Mitteln fassbar ist. Im Passepartoutausschnitt minimal gebräunt und verso mit Montageresten, sonst sehr gut erhalten.
