Ab 1945 änderte Severini seinen künstlerischen Ausdruck und schloss sich den Künstlern der Abstraction-Création an. Im Jahr 1946 verließ er Italien und ließ sich in Paris nieder. Seine abstrakten Kompositionen der 50er und 60er Jahre sind geprägt von pulsierender Farbigkeit und kompositioneller Dynamik. Kräftiger Druck in elf Farben; im Farbauftrag minimal berieben; insgesamt leicht gebräunt; im Randbereich vereinzelt bestoßen.
