Brilliant, fine-lined and precise lifetime impression. With the watermark sought after for this state. The chin below the left ear is now clearly defined. Before the cross-hatching in the beret above the plume. Trimmed to the platemark. In this Engraving, Rembrandt depicts himself in a rich robe and with a beret decorated with feathers on his head. The beautiful view is likely to be quite similar to the appearance of the artist, who was 32 years old at the time. – Isolated, tiny stains. Each of the lower corners with a small hole the size of a tear nail, otherwise in very good condition.
Such early impressions of the sheet are rare.
