With a label of the art supplies merchant Lefranc et Cie, Paris on the reverse on the stretcher. Wetzel-Kerschbaumer G 1917/8, there with different dimensions of 81 x 100 cm. With a photo expertise by Konstanze Wetzel-Kerschbaumer, the artist’s daughter, Munich, dated 19.7.2016.

Descrizione

Kerschbaumer, who was stationed as a medic near Ostend during the First World War, captured four versions of this street corner. Unfortunately, two are thought to be lost. Despite his short creative career, his works are housed in important collections such as the Buchheim Museum in Bernried, the Brücke Museum in Berlin and the Museum Abteiberg in Mönchengladbach.
