Description

Richard Oelze is considered one of the most important and at the same time least known surrealists in his home country; some of his colleagues even regarded him as the only true surrealist. His works depict (nightmarish) dreamlike formations: sometimes a face can be seen here, an element can be caught there, but the ornamental, undulating, extatic quality devours any lasting identification.
