Description

A very good, strong impression of this rare print. With a margin up to 10 mm wide around the boarderline.
Cranach depicts a large tournament on a demarcated square, which is being watched more or less attentively by many onlookers from all walks of life. Emperor Maximilian had given the tournament a new impetus, wanting to promote knightly skills. – With a smoothed centrefold on the verso and old mounting strips in the upper corners. Paper somewhat brownstained and darkened. A small marginal tear at the upper edge, otherwise in good condition. Very rare!
