Description

From 1931 to 1933, Muche worked as a professor at the Academy of Art in Breslau. Almost all of the works he created during this period were destroyed during the Second World War: this still life therefore offers a rare insight into this phase of the artist’s work, in which he turned his attention entirely to figurative painting. Here he creates a monumental still life in cheerful colours, in which the fruit appears almost threatening due to its huge proportions.
