Woodcut on very fine cream Japanese laid paper. (1921). Ca. 31.5 x 37.5 cm (sheet size ca. 41 x 48 cm). One of only very few trial proofs. Signed lower left. Inscribed with the work number “2108” lower centre. Numbered “8973” in handwriting on the reverse. Feininger executed very few trial proofs during his lifetime. It was only in 1971 that the Print Club of Cleveland, Ohio, published a posthumous edition of 252 copies.

Verso handschriftlich nummeriert “8973”. Zu Lebzeiten druckt Feininger lediglich einige wenige Probedrucke. Erst 1971 gibt der Print Club of Cleveland, Ohio, eine posthumen Auflage mit 252 Exemplaren heraus.
