Pen in brown, brown wash over faint pencil lines on laid paper with trimmed watermark. 24 x 30.9 cm. Signed with the artist’s monogram lower left. Collector’s stamp on the reverse showing through faintly on the front. We are thankful to Dr. Barbara Hardtwig, Munich, for the information she has kindly provided for cataloguing this lot.

Johann Georg von Dillis hat das Motiv ein weiteres Mal in einer bildmäßig angelegten Skizze behandelt (vgl. Kat.-Nr. 7, S. 80f., in: Ausst.-Kat.: Johann Georg von Dillis (1992)). Mit einer vom Künstler auf einem separaten Papierstück ausgeführten Korrektur im Bereich des Flusses unten rechts. – Vereinzelt geringfügige Griffspuren, ansonsten in gutem Zustand.
