Description

Hervorragender, kräftiger Druck des seltenen Blattes, um die Figur des Todes tiefschwarz gedruckt, in den Baumwipfeln und dem Himmel transparent belebt. In der unteren linken Ecke mit “Rodolphe Bresdin 1837” in der Platte signiert, van Gelder geht allerdings von einer Entstehung um 1851 aus und listet nur drei Exemplare dieses seltenen Motivs in öffentlichen Sammlungen auf: Institute Collge of Art, Baltimore; Coll. Dr. Pierre Lafargue, Bordeaux und The Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago. – Wenige winzige Braunfleckchen, ansonsten in gutem Zustand. Sehr selten!
