Description
Agrestis früheste Werke sind in Forlì entstanden, der Stadt, in der er geboren und ausgebildet wurde. Einzelheiten über sein frühes Leben sind nur lückenhaft bekannt, doch scheint er seit Mitte der 1530er Jahre als Maler in Forlì tätig gewesen zu sein, als er einen Freskenzyklus in der Cappella del SS. Sacramento ausführte. Um 1542 war Agresti in Ravenna und kurz darauf in Rom, wo er laut Giovanni Baglione in der Engelsburg in der Werkstatt von Perino del Vaga arbeitete, der damals der offizielle Maler des Farnese-Papstes Paul III. war. – Oben rechts und am linken Rand angeschmutzt, ansonsten in guter Erhaltung.
