Description
Johann Gottlieb Hantzsch lebte seit 1815-22 als Maler und Zeichenlehrer in Dresden. Sein eigentliches Schaffensgebiet lag im kleinbürgerlichen-häuslichen Genre und er gewann damit einen gewissen Einfluss auf Ludwig Richter. Die Künstler waren eng befreundet und Richter fertigte 1833-36 nach mehreren Genrebildern von Hantzsch Druckgraphiken an. Gemälde des Künstlers befinden sich in der Nationalgalerie Berlin, im Museum Leipzig, Sammlung Speck v. Sternburg und im Albertinum Dresden.
