Description
Joseph Anton Koch war um 1800 nicht nur der Nestor der deutschen Landschaftsmalerei in Rom, sondern auch immer wieder ein ätzender Karikaturist. Zeit seines Lebens hat Koch in satirischer Weise als Zeichner und Autor Missstände im Kunstbetrieb angeprangert – berühmt ist seine Karikatur auf die Kunstpraxis an der Hohen Carlsschule in Stuttgart, in der er sich voller Spott von ihr abwendet. Gleichzeitig war Koch ähnlich wie Rumohr ein feiner Menschenbeobachter, der mit wenigen Strichen wie auf unserem Blatt das Wesen eines Menschen offenlegen konnte. – Horizontale unauffällige Falte. Verso mit Resten von alter Montierung, ansonsten in gutem Zustand.
