Die Zeichnung war Teil einer Folge mit Szenen aus der Passion Christi. In den letzten 20 Jahren sind auf dem Auktionsmarkt mehrere dieser Blätter, die alle das gleiche Format aufweisen, aufgetaucht, etwa die Szene mit Simon von Cyrene, der das Kreuz für Christus trägt (bei Artcurial, Paris, Auktion am 27.3. 2015, Los 63), teils auch mit falscher Zuschreibung an Girolamo Brusaferro (Kreuzigung, bei Finarte, Auktion 22.11.2000, Los 37).
