Verso auf dem Keilrahmen handschriftlich bezeichnet. Marzelline Kudlic war mit Rudolf Jettmar liiert, nachdem sich 1920 seine Frau Irma von ihm getrennt hatte. Das Porträt entsteht auf dem Höhepunkt von Jettmars künstlerischen Karriere und zeigt die Pianistin mit selbstbewußtem Ausdruck. Bereits zwei Jahre zuvor stellt Jettmar sie zum ersten Mal dar.
