Description
In den frühen 1630er Jahren fügte Jan Miense Molenaer gerne kleinwüchsige Menschen in seine Genredarstellungen wie auch biblische Szenen ein (vgl. Dennis P. Weller, Jan Miense Molenaer: Painter of the Dutch Golden Age, New York 2002, Kat. Nr. 5, 6, 14 sowie Fig. 1, 17). In diesem Zeitraum dürfte auch vorliegende Darstellung entstanden sein.
