Description
Die Missionsspezialisten Bruce McCandless und Robert Stewart erprobten zum ersten Mal den freien Außenbordeinsatz, ohne mit einem Haltegurt ans Shuttle befestigt zu sein. Um frei im Weltraum manövrierbar zu sein, verwendeten sie einen Düsenrucksack “Manned Maneuvering Unit” (MMU).
