Description
Anfang der 1960er Jahre, mit dem Umzug nach Belgien, erfuhr das Werk Bram Bogarts eine wichtige Zäsur, er entfernt sich von der gestischen Malerei. Das Material und die Farbe selbst sind nun die Bildaussage. Durch die Akkumulation von Farbsubstanz wird die Malerei an ihre Grenzen geführt. Die Werke bekommen zunehmend eine dreidimensionale Struktur, mit dem dicken Materialauftrag schafft er beinahe skulpturale Gemälde, aus dem Bild wird ein Körper geformt. – Mit einer winzigen Fehlstelle am Rand links außen (nicht störend), drei weiße Fleckchen vorne rechts. Sonst in sehr gutem Zustand.
